wooden bat

Hi,

If i was to use a wooden bat for slow pitch SPN rules, does it need to have a utrip logo? The bat is made from a local company--prairie sticks.

THanks.

Yes, it would need to have the stamp and they still might not allow it.

It can be dangerous if the bat snaps and pieces start flying around.

Yes it would.

As for wood bat only local events, I have seen special rules and what not adhering to using those stamped with new ASA stamp when wood only. And, specifically mentioning Corn Dogs not being allowed.

Just sharing what I know.

If it doesn't have utrip thumb stamp won't be allowed. If it does, you should be OK. Don't see why they wouldn't allow a wood bat if it had the proper stamp.

Demarini Corn Dogs have the thumbprint stamp as far as I know - But it isn't a 100% wood bat. Comp handle. So they've been rejected in wood only events.

Interesting. I thought the hot composite bats would be more dangerous. Thanks all.
