Swing Mechanics Videos

Hey Fellas,

Just wated to let everyone know that Todd Graham has put this Swing Mechanics Vol. 1 Video up on youtube. This isn't a "new" video by any means but it does still have great information! I will say this helped me completely re-tool my swing years ago when the DVD was initially released...

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up.... .I have been working all winter trying to perfect my swing. Now I just need April to come so I can hit the diamond. Will definitely make use of this.

Thanks for the share

A little confusing. This guy sais swing down. Ken Boagart sais .. swing level to up. This guy sais.. make your swing as long as possible (like Demarini said in his video) all others say.. short to the ball. Most people say your lead foot should be a little open, this guy said closed.. Most people say.. when you make contact BOTH hands must be on the bat. This guy sais take your top hand off BEFORE contact.. SO CONFUSING..

The biggest thing I took from Todd Grahams videos when I watched them years ago is the easiest out if a pop fly. If you swing down and know how to correct your swing before contact you can direct ground balls into infield gaps and are still hits a high percentage of the time.

Boagarts instructions to start with your hands down is for someone that can hit 230 and wants to bump it up to 250. Backspin is needed to add that extra distance, and you aren't going to get it by swinging up at the ball.

This guy's videos is for the small guy that doesn't have the strength to have a really short path, like the big boys do. You might run into one sometime, but will struggle with consistency. The whole idea of using gravity is pretty silly.

Both options have inherent limitations.

The thing I remembered from years ago on the SM vids was the bat speed whip through the hitting zone...
Haven't watched for years though

That should be the #1 take away, and a compact swing is your best bet. Once you start swinging "long", you're probably going to bring the barrel around to early and carry it through, rather than whipping.

I couldn't get through the intro. Dude forgets to breathe.

There are several videos like this that should help somebody.

So I guess Brad now hits like a little guy. Lol
