2018 Freakshow

Saw a pic floating around yesterday of the 2018 Freakshows but haven't heard or seen anything else. Saw 2 ... one had a green barrel and purple handle, other had the purple barrel and green handle. They were bright! Anyone have any info on them?

13" barrels (unlike any other Mikens)

Maxload (Green) & Bal (Purple)

Bat was hot af - I swung the Bal and really liked it. Had great pop and the sweet spot location was dead mid barrel and swung around nice.

It's high on my wish list now.

Interesting. Kind of a mid length. I don't like a 12/12.5" but love the 13.5/14". No idea if I would like a 13".

I am typically a big barrel 14" or 13.5" fan.

Lately been a Worth Bal 14" guy. Both the bats I own and hit almost all the time are that.

The 13" barrel had a huge forgiving sweet spot. Swung nice tbh. Nothing like a 12-12.5" barrel bat or I wouldn't have liked it or hit so well with it during the round.

I look forward to hitting this bat again.

FWIW - I had a Miken Freakshow Green and later Yellow last year. I moved away from Miken Bal bats as I couldn't find the sweet spot as well as the Worth ones for whatever reason. (I have a theory that Mikens are higher up closer to cap than Worth in big barrel - Call me crazy....)

The 18 Bal 'show was seamless. I picked it up and ripped it every bit as good as my rounds that night with the Worths. I was pretty sold, anything else needed more adjustment or getting used to.

I think they'll have a winner here, and it's fun they've made a different format not available before. Same deal goes for the Easton Ressy.

Thanks for the detailed review! Good to hear. I'll definitely add it to my radar. I like that they aren't repaints and something completely different.

That's honestly the reason I even gave it the time of day tbh...

Otherwise I had hit everything and made my decisions, or so I thought, lol.

Hey TheShOe... your review seem pretty accurate. Thanks for it. I'm a long barrel balanced guy too since my red 4tf.. So How do you compare the balanced Freakshow to the other 2018 main line Worth/Miken?! I have an hard time to make my final choice (FS/Freak20e/EST or Dedonatis)

I found it to swing alongside my Dedonatis and 17 EST Bal really well. The sweet spot location, weight, etc all seemed to co-exist well.

To give you an example, the EST 17 12.5" does not co-exist with the above 2 for me. Neither did any of the Miken Bal 17 stuff including the 17 Freakshow. The sweet spots just seemed to take getting used to when trying them and putting down what are my gamers.

Has a nice soft barrel hot feel about it, the 13" get around really nice but also felt very forgiving to me. Sweet spot dead center barrel like my Worth bats, and not further up towards the cap like the PT Bal and 17'show Bal I had.

Hope that helps.

You really can't go wrong with your pending list in any way, depends what you like and what feel suits you. I chose to skip on the 18 EST for now, as I didn't get a Wow feeling over my 17 one with it. The Dedonatis to me was awesome and keeps getting better. Likely to be my gamer now. Has a lot of work into it and so used to swinging that every BP lately.

Alright, so I take this back...

After a post here and a good friend of mine making an arguement...

We put my Dedonatis bat beside the Freakshow.

Low and behold, the Freakshow wasn't any shorter at all.

Not bashing it by any means, the bat was gross good and very much still on my radar.

But the barrel length seemed identical side to side to any Worth or Miken big barrel.

Not sure if maybe within the guts they are different, or the tapers slim different. But the taper to handle finish the exact same.

Take it FWIW - Just thought i'd report back on that after someone pointed it out to me in person, and I know someone asked in the thread...
