All I can say is it makes a world of difference as a hitter when you dont hit everything at BP, that is where you can start the bad habits that carry into a game. I realize that this is supposed to be a hitters game, and get the bat off my shoulder but when I am on base due to a walk, at least it wasnt a flyout or ground out. Being patient as a hitter is something that I think most slo pitch players need to learn and if they do, will produce solid results for the team.

This is after all one of the most important sports to win and lose as a team and not to play for that individual average.

PS. Hope my lads read this, they are so ****ING impatient sometimes! LOL.
I dunno TJ .. I have chalked up a nice walk count this year and only my first year in this slo pitch stuff did I swing at everything .. after that had to learn patience .. as with you taking the first pitch is a must ..

compare stats with ya .. on the other mark I have watched 2 nice K's this year wanting that last one to go off the mat ..

for 1-1 just be happy to get pitches -dam -it could be your only pitch lol
I find that playing in a $hitty coed league where the only way you get second is on four straight has made me swing at a ton of first pitches.....I have been doing the same in men's. Because a pitcher in the sucky coed league will pitch me one strike then walk me so I want to hit especially with the quality of the girl behind me in the order...this has led to me seeming to be impatient at the plate.....

Honestly I don't know who you are.... But I say batting along with experience, confidence is the main difference between good hitters and really good ones..If you step up to the plate and are thinking I am going to hit, your going too, If you walk up unsure or hesitant then the outcome is not as good. That's my two cents..

yes, this is the downfall my friend, I have 3 K's this year, 2 looking for the same reason...just trying to be on base...1 was outside but VERY marginal and the other was a straight K...
