Just keep hitting it until the cap pops out. If it never does, you just saved yourself the money fixing it.

so, anyway, if there's a place i can find this in canada i'd love to buy some now so i'm prepared if the cap pops off. otherwise i'll order online and fix the bat over the off season
napa offered me some cheap looking marine epoxy made by GOOP i think, any good? it seemed like it was made for the same purpose, just never heard of it before
I work at IMP Marine in St. John's NL, and we stock the 3M Marine Adhesive regularly. A tube of it sells for $17.95 regular price, and thats the size you would put in a caulking gun. I can, however, do a little better on the price, but you would have to pay the shipping.

jbweld also makes a marine glue thats cheap. i used fusor for my freak but thats just because i have it on hand. might be a little pricey to buy, especially if you dont have a 2 part epoxy gun.
http://www.jbweld.net/dealer/index.php
to get the end cap out i just heated it and pried out gently with a putty knife all around the end cap. i heated it with a heat gun but i would advise against this. it melted the glue to the end cap and i had a lot of trouble cleaning it. i would suggest soaking the end of the bat in boiling water.

i'm actually friends with the owners daughter. i talked to her about getting in large quantities of fiberglass and resin and she said they basically had to order everything in there anyway so i was better off just ordering it direct myself. i'll double check on my way to hockey some day though, just in case. i suppose it's more likely to carry a couple of those than 4gallon jugs of resin...

well, just in case anybody else was interested, it probably means more to you than me, so i snapped a couple pics with the endcap out.
i'm not gonna lie, i had wondered about what would happen if i added a little more endload, guess that's not even an option, haha. hoping once i get everything back in it'll be the last i have to worry about it. just started figuring out how to hit this bat too
thanks again to all who helped. i wouldn't not have been able to get this far without you.
so how many racquetballs do you think i could fit inside?

i finally got that 3M stuff today, for anybody in winnipeg, if you might need some let me know, i've got like 90% of the tube left, and can't imagine ever needing it again unless the cap pops out again. and even still, that would leave me with 80% of the tube left, haha.
i tried to put about as much of the epoxy on as i scraped off, maybe a little more, but then i wiped away the excess that squeezed out. i wasn't sure if i should have just gooped it on and then let it settle back around the endcap, but the last thing i wanted was to add more weight to the end, so hoping this works. probably won't know until next year, as it won't be ready for my last tourney of the year this weekend
thanks again for all the advice

in all honesty were are beyond that point.
first, i don't play competitive ball
second, i'm not too worried if i'm not allowed to use it
third, my brilliant team mates banged the cap back in a couple times before cleaning out the dirt/rocks and there's a few spots on the endcap where the rocks were jammed in that are damaged now. add that to the fact the end is flared out ever so slightly, there was really no hope in making it look perfect.
that being said, it looks beat up, but not really any worse than some of my other bats that i've had for a long time.

the end cap has not come out yet, just pops out a little bit on one side and i tap it back in, but what i'm noticing now is a definitely 'flare' on that side. i haven't really used it since i first noticed, maybe 30swings tossing the ball up to myself, no games, no drops on the ground, and no hits off the end.
should i repair this immediately?(ie before i use it again) or will 4-5 more games of JUST me using it cause further damage. no gaurantees, just guesses.
when i do 'fix' the end cap, is there a 'best' way to remove the endcap. my plan was to just hit with it until it popped up enough i could pry it out, but it seems sketchy to me. and should i put like a ring clamp around the end to stop it from flaring out or just leave it?
thanks.
I was told that you shouldnt ever tap the cap back in as this will cause flaring and damage the composite weave inside and eventually make it impossible to put the cap back in. Wait till it comes out completely and then take it back to be fixed or clean the cap and any crud inside the barrel and do it yourself but make sure there it is clean to prevent the flare.
