TOURNEY NO SHOW list

This is a thread to post teams (and contacts) of those that bail on tournaments without acceptable notice.

This is not to be used to out teams that bail with enough warning for the convenor to react accordingly. It is also not a place for airing off topic issues. Please post only those teams that have a hard committment to enter a tournament and then leave a convenor hanging with little to no warning.

** edit** Also, this is a good place to mention sunday no-shows. While not the same as screwing the convenor out of the entry fee, it leaves the other team hanging when they might wanna be home sleeping away the previous nights festivities for an extra hour and leaves the convenor with an unnecessary headdache.

We were doing up the schedule for our Mac Kids Charity Tourney and a guy posts his name and # on Facebook. I called him and he asked that we include him. We did and he said he couldn't EMT the money, but he assured me that he would pay us on Saturday before his first game.
Well, low and behold, the f*cker no-shows.
His name is Gord Leslie and he runs a team called "The Tigers". His phone number is 416 807 4607.

This clown no-showed a Charity Tourney.

Did they show up and pay??
This scenario sucks, and this post will stay to hopefully curb this kinda thing cause its a massive ***** move.

Not really the same as the intent of the original thread, but great point and something to consider for interested convenors IMO. Not as bad as stiffing them for entry fee, but might be something they dont want to have to deal with come sunday.

I will update the original post. Thanks

If a team paid and played Saturday and never showed Sunday why put there team on here?
Its not right but you advanced and most likely made the money and prizes.
Maybe your playing rec and got hammered by C teams sat and decided not to drive a hour to play the first place team for 5 innings ? lol

So true..but if they knew that they were going to do the "no show"...on the Sunday, they should've at least gave the guy running the tourney the info..that way my guys wouldn't have had to be there & wait around for 2 hrs before we had to actually play...some of my guys had to drive 1hr half just to get there...

I agree with you 100% there are so many f---ken teams in E or Rec that are C teams. I would like to mention a few from 2 weeks ago in Bill Millers tourney. I will never again play in tourney that Bill Miller hosts. He allows C and D teams to enter in E divisions.

If you want team names IM me ill let you know. If you paid ur money who cares if u show up on Sunday!!!

Add Sherwin from the Mariners to this list as he bailed on the NSA Worlds Tourney. No issues with the players as from what I've heard they were more than willing to come and play. Definitely threw a "wrench" into the Elite Division...

As a member of the Mariners and being in the "Know", I would first like to say that Sherwin gave NSA at least a week and a half/two weeks notice that he did not want to put his team in after he found out that there was not going to be an OPEN and that some of the guys playing in OPEN had decided to form their own team. Especially knowing that he wouldn't have our full squad at the Worlds, he notified NSA of his request to remove the team and was told by NSA that our team would be put into Intermediate for the Worlds. Obviously after the sched was released Monday, NSA left our team in Elite and Sherwin promptly called NSA to remove the team! Since all monies were paid well advance and ample notice was given, Sherwin gave NSA enough time to do/re-do the schedule minus the Mariners in Elite!
